Shopping and Dining

There are several areas to shop in Osprey, they are all pretty much located on Tamiami Trail, so it makes a day of shopping extremely convenient.  The favorite places to shop in the area are Osprey Village Shops, Blackburn Point Plaza and the Shops at Casey Key.  There are also a number of good restaurants on Tamiami and waterfront dining at Spanish Point and Blackburn Point Rd.

Some of the favorites of visitors and locals alike are:

Cacey Key's Fish House a waterfront seafood grill right on the water has an Old Florida Tiki Bar feel to it, it's not fine dining, but diners always leave satissfied.

Rosebud's is about as formal dining as you can get in Osprey, though the bar atmosphere is more vacation casual, dining is more formal feeling.  It's a great place for steaks, the food is delicious the service is superb, definately check this place out.  They also offer an early bird special, where everything is a few dollars cheaper.

Mad Moe's If you're looking for more of a sports bar vibe, this is definately the place.  It can get pretty crowded during season, which is only a testament to how great it is.  Fun atmosphere, friendly service, always a good time.

Parks and Recreation

It is Florida, so there are obviously plenty of beautiful beaches in Osprey.  The two favorites are:

Nokomis Beach One of Florida's Best beaches, located on Casey Key straight west of the Albee Road Bridge.  The park is 22 acres with 1,700 feet on the Gulf and 3,200 feet on the Intracoastal.  There is also a snack bar that serves sandwiches, snacks and cold drinks.

North Jetty Beach Park Located right on the southern tip of Casey Key, and thanks to the jetties, this is one of the best places to surf on the west coast of Florida.  It's also a great spot for picnics and the fishing here is incredible.  Many boats pass through here from the Intracoastal to the Gulf.
