Venice Golf and Country Club Will Invest $2.5 Million

Venice, FL – The Venice Golf and Country Club has consistently kept to its schedule of long-range capital planning to maintain its high quality facilities and luxurious ambiance. Accordingly, The Venice Golf and Country Club announced $2.5 Million in golf course improvements that break ground this summer; with a grand re-opening  scheduled  for October 2015.

The club is internationally recognized by the Golf Environmental Organization, for embracing sustainable environmental practices. Reducing water use is consistent with the sustainable environmental practices that the club embraces. As such, important improvements include replacing the original irrigation system with a new, technologically superior golf course irrigation system that will reduce water consumption by about 30 to 40 percent annually.

To replace the grass on all the fairways, tees and greens, the Venice Golf and Country Club will use the highly acclaimed Celebration Bermuda grass; to provide a dense turf, resistant to winter stress. The greens will continue to use the highly successful Bermuda Tif Eagle grass, which consistently keeps green speeds in the 10.0 – 11.0 range. In addition, the club will enlarge tees by 33 percent, providing optimum year round teeing surfaces.
