Venice, Florida is a beautiful place to live. With stunning coastal areas, warm Florida weather, and great outdoor public spaces, it truly is a paradise. The city and local community organizations work hard to maintain the beauty of the area. Venice Area Beautification, Inc. has a mission to make the city “a more beautiful place to live, work, and play”. They do this through public/private partnerships that work on making improvements to public spaces. Here is a list of recent projects that VABI has worked on that continue to make Venice the beautiful city that it is. Spend some time outside this fall by visiting these sites in Venice.

Located within the 4 acre park, the Freedom Walk at Patriots Park offers a row of freedom related quotations mounted on bronze plaques. This walk complements the other memorials within the park that recognize those that have served our country in the name of freedom throughout the years.

Venetian Waterway Park is a linear park along Caspersens Beach and both sides of the Intercostal highway that offers 10 miles of biking and walking trails. It begins at VABI headquarters, located at 257 North Tamiami Trail. This great park connects to the Legacy Trail, making for 23 miles connected trails. Enjoy the scenic walkway while being active.

West Blalock Park and Monty Andrews Arboretum is located on the Island of Venice behind the Venice Community Center. Take a walk through the garden and check out the Monty Andrews Arboretum that is home to many varieties of palm trees and other native plants. VABI decorates the trees during the holidays.

Centrally located in Venice, there is charming spot to view wildlife at the beautiful Ruscelletto Fountain. Take a break from your day by enjoying a relaxing sit by the fountain.

Every night one of the Banyan Trees on Venice Avenue is lit up by VABI. These leafy trees live for hundreds of years and are considered sacred in many countries throughout the world.

The Urban Forest is an upcoming project with VABI. Though little information has been released about this project, we cannot wait to see what it adds to the beauty of Venice.
