There really is nothing better than the surf, sand, and sun! For those who love where the sand meets the water, Sarasota and Manatee counties will soon become your favorite destinations, as miles and miles of the most beautiful beaches can be found here, many of which rank as some of the very best in the world! This past Tuesday the Herald Tribune announced its list of the Top 10 beaches in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, and we are thrilled to share this with you, as some of our very own beaches in Venice--- Venice Beach, Brohard Beach and Paw Park, and Nokomis Beach--- made the list!!

  1. Coquina Beach.Located on the southern end of Anna Maria Island, Coquina Beach is known for its crushed shell sand and hundreds of Australian Pine trees.
  2. Lido Beach. In Lido Key you will find beautiful Lido Beach, which stretches for an impressive 3,000 feet! And for those who need a little break from the sun, St. Armand’s Circle is right around the corner and offers amazing shopping!
  3. Manatee Public Beach. Here you will find fluffy white sand, a fishing pier, and live music. Public transportation is also easily accessible. Not bad!!
  4. Siesta Beach. This Public Beach is the area's most popular destination. Why? Because Siesta Key offers everything a beachgoer could want, especially its wonderful soft white sand!
  5. Venice Beach! Located in our backyard, Venice Beach is known for being a perfect scuba diving spot due to its fossilized coral reef located one-quarter mile offshore. It’s also wonderfully situated near Venice’s shops and restaurants. Click here for current listings in Venice.
  6. Turtle Beach. This is a perfect spot for those who love beach activities, as Turtle Beach is home to volleyball and horseshoe courts.
  7. Manasota Beach. Popular for boating, swimming, fishing, shelling, and its scenic boardwalk, Manasota Beach is definitely a place to visit!
  8. Brohard Beach and Paw Park! For all you dog lovers out there, Brohard Paw Park, located on the southernmost point of Venice, is a great place to spend time (and take a swim!) with your furry friend.
  9. Blind Pass Beach (also known as Middle Beach). Located in Englewood is Blind Pass Beach. Here you will find long stretches of sandy beach and a scenic trail through the mangrove forest.
