Next up, the much anticipated Venice Tradition...the VENICE CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE! Helmed annually by Mr. John Osmulski, the Christmas Boat Parade is now in it's 10th year and counts as it's major donors this year Pennsylvania Steel and Davis & Beyer dental practice; although many other donor's are participating but have wished to remain anonymous and stay behind the scenes.

For those of you not familiar with the Venice Christmas Boat Parade, it really is more than just a parade! Although we absolutely LOVE watching the colorful boats lit up year after year out on the water, the VCBP is also responsible for giving away more than $60,000 to local organizations from Venice Youth Boating to the Venice Wildlife Center, All Faiths Food Bank and more. It has also awarded more than $25,000 in scholarship money to Venice High School seniors who are in need to continue their education.

The parade itself is a GRAND event and so much fun! The boats follow a 5-mile course- starting north of Albee RD Bridge, then south to the Venice Inlet (near the Crow's Nest), south along the Intracoastal Waterway,(past Market 4 Restaurant), along the Venetian Waterway Park, (past Old Salty Dog), under the Circus Bridge and back north.

When it started back in 1989, a few boats were involved. Historically, between 40- 45 boats were participate in the annual event which displays incredible holiday displays of 1000's of lights, figurines and other objects!

The deadline to register your boat for the parade is tonight at 7:00 pm at venicechristmasboatparade.com.

The Venice Christmas Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, December 5th at 6:00 pm & over 40,000 spectator's are expected!

If you've got a Boat and great Christmas Spirit, try your hand at some creative decorating and join in the spectacular tradition of the Venice Christmas Boat Parade!

We'll see you there! Living the Paradise Life....Venice Florida!
