It is that spook-tacular time of here! Halloween is just around the corner! Get in the spirit of the season at some of the amazing events planned in the Suncoast area. Whether you are looking for the ultimate scare at a haunted house or want something tamer, such as a fun, Halloween themed event, check out these great activities going on all month long!  


Frightmares Extreme Haunted House  

Put your fears to the test and check out this 12,000 square feet haunted attraction that has two terrifying sites! You will be horrified by the sights and sounds in Southwest Florida’s largest Halloween haunt. This attraction is open now through Halloween. Be sure to check out the website for specific dates. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Tickets for both attractions are only $16! Swing by Ringling Shopping Center (170 Shopping Avenue) in Downtown Sarasota for a night of frightening fun.

4th Annual Haunted Trails

Take a trek through a spooky forest on one of the two trails at Oscar Scherer State Park (Route 41, Osprey) on Friday, October 21st, and Saturday, October 22nd. Depending on your level of fear, you can pick which haunted trail you take. For those truly scared, there are also family fun activities along with a Trick or Trail. Tickets are $5 per person with children ages 4 and younger free. The attraction is open from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.


28th Annual Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest

Dates: Saturday, October 8th - Sunday, October 9th

Times: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Fruitville Grove (7410 Fruitville Road, Sarasota)

Cost: FREE admission

Looking for some non-scary, Fall family fun? Check out this free festival. There will be costume contests, live music, hay rides, pumpkin painting, and more! Dine on some delicious food that will be available for purchase.

Night of Fish, Fun & Fright

Date: Friday, October 21st

Time: 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Location: Mote Aquarium (1600 Thompson Parkway, Sarasota)

Cost: $10 per person (Members), $12 per person (Non-Members)

This unique event at the aquarium features a fun, nautical themed trick or treating area. You will discover mysterious creatures that live deep in the spooky seas. For some extra fun, check out the underwater pumpkin carving in the shark tank! Costumes are encouraged.

14th Annual Goblin Gathering

Date: Friday, October 21st

Time: 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Location: G.T. Bray Park (5502 33rd Avenue Drive West, Bradenton)

Cost: $5 per children’s wristband, FREE for adults

Your entire family will love this event with sinfully good sweets, bounce houses, costume contests, face painting, hay rides, and more.

Ghost Hunting Tours

Dates: Friday, October 21st - Saturday, October 22nd

Times: 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Location: Historic Spanish Point (337 North Tamiami Trail, Osprey)

Cost: $15 for person (Members), $20 per person (Non-Members)

Enjoy a frightening nighttime tour of spooky surprises and ghostly encounters. You will explore the 30 acre outdoor museum throughout the night as you participate in activities and meet plenty of specters and ghouls along the way.

Italian American Club of Venice Halloween 2016

Date: Saturday, October 29th

Time: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Location: Italian American Club of Venice (1375 Ringling Drive, Venice)

Cost: $20 for person (Members), $24 per person (Guests)

Halloween isn’t just for the kids. Have an adult night out at this fun costume party. With Halloween “Libootions”, a “Booffet Boo-BQ” dinner, and a night of dancing and music, you will never forget this evening of spooky fun.

Halloween Parade

Date: Monday, October 31st

Time: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Location: Centennial Park Gazebo (Tampa Avenue West, Venice)

Cost: FREE!

Dress your children up in their scariest or most beautiful Halloween costumes and bring them to Downtown Venice for the yearly Halloween parade. Children will follow Old Betsy the Fire Truck as it leads them out of the park. After the parade, enjoy trick or treating downtown at local businesses.
