Venice FL Halloween 2015

Yes, it's that time of year, this weekend the streets of Venice, FL  and the surrounding communities will be full of ghousts, ghouls and goblins.  Dress up with your little ghoul and embrace the spirit of the season, with the annual Children's Costume and Halloween Parade.  The  Parade starts at 4:30 pm on Friday Oct 30. People can start to gather in Centennial Park at 4:00pm.  Don't forget a bag for all the treats and hopefully a few tricks will be played.  

If you don't have a halloween costume, don't worry, we have your back.  

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so many are planning for celebrations lasting the entire weekend.  Americans will spend close to $6.9 billion on Halloween costumes this year, averaging  $74.34 per person in 2015, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).People are buying multiple costumes to wear on Thursday, Friday and Saturday! Which can be hard on the wallet.  If you haven't bought your costume yet, we're here to share the most popular costumes, so you don't end up 1 of 4 Cinderella's at the Ball, as well as inspire your inner creative, for a one of a kind Costume Contest Winner.

Spooky Haunts of the Trails from Venice to Osprey!

CAN YOU FEEL IT? The cool breeze that seems to last all day long....it's Fall in Florida! While Fall in most of the country signifies that much colder temperatures are soon to follow and that white soft fluffy stuff will soon start falling from the sky, here in Florida we relish this time of year as a relief from summer's scorching temperatures and humidity. It's also the PERFECT time for biking, hiking, camping and just about everything else!

This time of year is particularly fun because the spooky moss draped outdoor haunts are begging us to visit...and this year we start at the Haunted Trail at Oscar Scherer State Park!  

What: The Haunted Trail

Where: Oscar Scherer State Park,1843 S. Tamiami Trail, Osprey

Time: 8:00 - 10:00 pm

Cost: $5.00 per person (4 & under Free)


They have 3 Trails to chooses from: A not-so-scary trail, a trick-or-treating trail (for the younger kids) and a Haunted trail that can be very intense where a guillotine chops off heads! So get ready to SCREAM!

Next we have the Crowley Museum's...‘Crawleyween’!

Although floooding closed the museum & Nature Center this summer, the great staff cleaned it up enough for Halloween!

Crawleyween will take place in the Pioneer Area and the kids will be able to collect candy and play lots of games!
