The Fourth of July is almost here! There are exciting family-friendly events going on this holiday throughout VENICE and the SUNCOAST that we wanted to share with you! Head on down to the beach for some live entertainment, kids activities, delicious food, and, of course, spectacular fireworks displays!




3rd Annual Myakka River Kayak and 4th of July Jam Blast

When: Monday, July 4th | 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Where: Snook Haven Restaurant (5000 E. Venice Ave.)

Cost: FREE!

Have an active 4th of July kayaking and canoeing with your family at this great event. Boat rentals are available or bring your own. When you aren’t enjoying the day on the beautiful Myakka River, take in some fantastic bluegrass tunes and delicious food.

Venice Fireworks Show

When: Monday, July 4th | Sunset

Where: Venice Beach

Cost: FREE!

Grab a blanket and head down to one of the beautiful beaches in Venice or spend the night out in the Gulf of Mexico to take in the spectacular firework show. Fireworks are launched off of the south Venice jetty.



Fireworks Spectacular Over Sarasota Bay

When: Monday, July 4th | 9:00 pm

Where: Downtown Sarasota

Cost: FREE!

Bring your family to Bayfront Park or Island Park to watch the fantastic firework show.


All American Barbecue and Independence Day Celebration

When: Monday, July 4th | 6:00 – 10:00 pm

Where: Shelby Gardens (900 S. Palm Ave.)

Cost: $25 Members, $35 Non-members, $10 Children 4-11, FREE for kids 3 and under

Head to the botanical gardens for an amazing event with delicious barbecue, live music, and family activities. Finish off the night with a spectacular fireworks show over Sarasota Bay.


Sarasota Sailing Squadron’s Liberty Day Regatta and Family Festival

When: Monday, July 4th | 1:00 – 8:00 pm

Where: Sarasota Sailing Squadron (1717 Ken Thompson Parkway)

Cost: FREE admission; $7 dinner for adults, $5 for children 11 and under

Watch the annual regatta before eating an amazing potluck dinner including a pig roast!


A Patriotic Spectacular 

When: Monday, July 4th | 4:30 pm

Where: First United Methodist Church (104 S. Pineapple Ave.)

Cost: $25 in advance, $30 at door, $15 for students with ID

Listen to the beautiful voices of Gloria Musicae as they perform your favorite classic American songs. This concert will surely put you in the patriotic spirit before heading down to the bay to watch the fireworks.



Englewood Firecracker Festival and Craft Show

When: Monday, July 4th | 10:00 am – 9:00 pm

Where: Dearborn Street

Cost: FREE!

Come down to this great block party filled with food and music. Over 60 vendors will be lined up on the street selling their handmade goods. The kids will love their designated area with bounce house and water slides. Finish the day watching the largest fireworks display in Southwest Florida!
