Every year artists from around the world come to Venice and cover the Island in chalk!

The 2015 Chalk Festival will take place from November 9-16 and celebrates the theme 'Eat, Drink and Be Merry!'

Hosted by the Avenida de Colores 501c3 charitable cultural arts organization, it is the first and only international street painting festival in the United States and debuts more breakthroughs in the pavement art form and features more renowned artists than any other festival in the world; while at the same time valuing, inspiring and supporting novice and beginner artists of all ages, encouraging EVERYONE to participate no matter what the skill level.

The festival will feature pavement artists from around the world, a cultural exchange of sorts, through the art of chalk! Hundreds of artists will use the Venice pavement as their canvas and pastel chalk as their medium to create breathtaking oversized traditional and 3D illusionistic paintings. The public are invited to participate in, attend, and interact with the artists as they go about their work.

This cultural festival appeals to the most sophisticated critic as much as it does to the novice. Artists of all ages and skill levels will recreate old masterpieces alongside original works of art.  The public becomes an integral part of the performance as the viewer.
