Hollywood comes to Sarasota for 10 days during the 19th Annual Sarasota Film Festival! This incredible annual event is one of the biggest of the year in the Suncoast. Enjoy 10 days of films, panels, and fun parties between Friday, March 31st and Sunday, April 9th.  This nationally recognized film festival features the best narrative, documentary, and short independent films. There are also incredible films made by local filmmakers through the Veterans Filmmaking Academy and by students in the area. Several celebrities will be attending this year’s festival to receive awards and partake in conversations. They include Diane Lane, Aisha Tyler, Rory Kennedy, Stanley Tucci, and Rosanna Arquette. This truly is an event that you do not want to miss! Film Screening and Event Locations

The majority of films are screened at Regal Hollywood 20 Theater (1993 Main Street, Sarasota). The Opening and Closing Night Films will be screened at the Sarasota Opera House (61 North Pineapple Avenue, Sarasota). Panels and “In Conversation With” are held at the Florida Studio Theater (1241 North Palm Avenue, Sarasota). A variety of venues will host the special events, including Beulah Restaurant, J.D. Hamel Park, and the Sarasota Yacht Club. Please consult the 2017 Film Guide for a list of locations for each specific event.
